Description
What makes this guitar special: An outstanding player with an exceptionally warm, rich tone that provides hours of enjoyment. The veneer Brazilian rosewood back & sides are absolutely stunning, not to mention perfectly book matched! The medium profile neck is super comfy & plays great up & down the fretboard. All in all this is a truly wonderful, true vintage Gibson dreadnought at a really affordable price.
Cosmetic Condition: Pretty good shape for its age with typical play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There is a "2" stamped into the back of the headstock indicating the guitar was a factory second, however, there are no issues structurally or playability-wise. Overall the guitar has a cool, true vintage look with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Medium profile mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Indian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. Gibson Deluxe tuners are in good working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod functions fine.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought in natural finish. Solid spruce top with 3-ply binding. Rosewood bridge & adjustable saddle with cream end pins. The bridge was professionally re-glued by our luthier. Unoriginal tortoise pickguard & multi-ring rosette. The inside of the back & sides is maple with a Brazilian rosewood veneer on the outside. Again, the figuring in the Brazilian is really magnificent & perfectly book matched all around with single-ply back binding. There is no pickup & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 14.9 oz.
Case: Vintage hardshell case included.
