Description
What makes this guitar special: A true vintage Black Beauty with great feel a cool vibe. A few minor changes, but for the most part she's all there & ready to rock. Slender neck with a pair of killer sounding Pat No. humbuckers delivers wicked tone & sustain for days. A pro set up by the experts at Cream City Music ensures the guitar is ready to play straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but certainly not abused, with good honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, buckle rash & some finish wear. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender profile, 3-piece mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Beautiful ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. The guitar was professionally refret some time ago. The frets do show some light play wear, but for the most part are in great shape with plenty of life in them. Multi-bound headstock with mother of pearl split diamond inlays & Gibson logo. The original Kluson tuners were replaced with Grover Imperials, which are all in perfect working condition. Unoriginal brass nut - 1 11/16"; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss works fine.
Body: Solid mahogany "sandwich" body with 3-piece maple top. Multi-bound top & back. Newer stopbar tailpiece with original adjustable bridge & gold hardware. Pickguard is missing. Guitar weighs 10.25 lbs.
Pickups: Original Gibson Pat No. humbuckers. Bridge - 7.59K ohms; Neck - 7.67K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with newer "witch hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to '72 & all electronics are in good working condition.
