Description
What makes this guitar special: An absolutely gorgeous '74 Black Beauty with a cool vintage vibe & killer sounding humbuckers! Very clean for a 40 plus year old guitar & professionally set up by Cream City Music, so it's guaranteed to play great!
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition for its age - various minor nicks, dings & surface scratches. There's a 2 pressed into the back of the headstock, indicating the guitar was a factory second. Structurally & electronically there are no issues, so it's purely cosmetic - perhaps due to the slight 'finish soak' in the top, as evidenced by the long parallel lines running the entire length of the body. Again, these are only cosmetic & do not affect sound quality or playability. The gold finish is still very strong & has only tarnished a bit on the pickup covers & bridge saddles. Overall the guitar is in great shape & plays beautifully.
Neck: Slender mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Guitar was professionally refretted & the frets are in great shape with no wear. Multi-bound headstock with mother of pearl diamond inlays & Gibson logo. Kluson 'waffle back' tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Solid mahogany 'sandwich' body with maple cap. Multi-bound top & back. Stopbar tailpiece with ABR-1 bridge; gold hardware. 5-ply black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 10.7 lbs.
Pickups: Gibson Pat No humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge -7.19K ohms; Neck - 7.59K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with black 'witch hat' knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Post are original & date to '73 & '74. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. There's a small area on the bottom of the case where it's pushed in a bit & a portion of the tolex is missing.
