Description
Cosmetic Condition: Gorgeous vintage guitar in really nice shape for its age - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & mild weather checking. The guitar was professionally refretted & as a result some of the finish has been removed on the bass side neck binding. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Mahogany neck with 5-ply binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with 3-ply binding on either side of the abalone & mother of pearl block inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Bound headstock with mother of pearl logo inlays. Gold Guild tuners in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" bone nut; 25 1/2" scale length.
Body: Square should dreadnought with multi-bound top & back. Solid spruce top with solid Indian rosewood back & sides. Ebony bridge with bone saddle. The bridge has been sanded down a bit & reglued. Black pickguard & multi-ring rosette.
Playability / Sound: Nice, low action - neck plays well & is very comfortable. Big, boomy sound with a nice balance between the lows & highs. Warm, rich tone with great resonance & sustain.
