What makes this guitar special: A killer sounding '78 Tele with a cool 'blackguard' look to it. The maple fingerboard, blonde finish & black pickguard hearken back to the '50s & the early days of Leo Fender's ground-breaking design. This particular model demonstrates great tone & texture with a comfortable, rounded maple neck & classic sounding single coils, delivering that brilliant, clear tone we've come to love from Telecasters over the years. Cosmetic Condition: This was obviously someone's "go to" guitar as evidenced by the amount of play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, buckle rash, weather checking & finish wear throughout the guitar. The blonde finish has matured into more of a creamy yellow color with lots of variegation throughout the body. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a wonderful, true vintage vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with skunk stripe. Maple fingerboard with black dot inlays. Original small frets are in great shape with plenty of life in them. F tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod functions fine.
Body: Solid ash body in blonde finish with the natural grain patterns of the body showing through. String-thru bridge with brass "barrel" saddles. 3-ply black pickguard shows pick wear & a tiny bit of warping, but no cracks. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 10.4 oz.
Pickups: Original Tele single coils. Bridge - 5.98K ohms; Neck - 6.94K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs; 3-way selector switch with black "top hat" cap. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
