What’s special about this bass: This is a very cool Gibson Grabber bass and it’s a rare model! This one features the sliding pickup allowing the player to slide the pickup either closer to the bridge or closer to the neck for different sounds. Other features include a double-cutaway body, maple neck and maple fingerboard! This bass has a fantastic feel and is a desirable version because of the sliding pickup. Though subtle, the sliding pickup definitely creates different and very useable sounds in different positions.
Condition: Good shape overall! There are variour scratches, nicks, dings, dents and chips throughout the bass with some heavy buckle rash on the back. The finish on the back of the neck was stripped down to the bare wood by a previous owner for a sleeker feel. The fingerboard and frets have light play wear and plenty of life left in them. The neck is super comfortable with great action up and down the fingerboard and the truss rod functions perfectly. The control knobs are unoriginal. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition. This bass is a factory second evidenced by the “SECOND” indented into the back of the headstock. We have not found anything
Body: Solid double-cutaway body with beveled edges in black finish. String-through-body design with a 4-saddle bridge and bridge cover. Dual plastic control knobs and a single-ply black pickguard.
Neck: Very nicely shaped maple neck. The neck is actually quite comfortable as a result of the finish being stripped off of the back. Maple fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays and a 1 9/16” nut. Open-gear Gibson tuners, 34” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Original sliding Gibson Pickup with master volume and tone controls.
