Description
This Chet Atkins nylon string is a rare, early Custom Shop Edition model with serial number K039. The neck feels & plays great!
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & finish checking. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Three-piece mahogany neck with thick ebony fingerboard & cream side-dots. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Slotted headstock with gold Gibson classical tuners in perfect working condition. 2" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Contoured, chambered mahogany body with bound spruce top. Rosewood bridge with classical style rosette & Chet Atkins soundhole cover.
Pickup: The original electronics in this guitar had been removed before we acquired it. Our luthier was able to install a simple passive under-saddle pickup made by Fishman. Unfortunately there are no pots or wiring harness in the control cavity. The volume & tone controls up top are non-functioning. If you plug the guitar directly into an amp you'll get sound, but weak. To get the best sound out of the guitar, you'll need to run it through an acoustic pre-amp or try to find proper replacement electronics.
Case: Paded gig bag included.
