Description
What makes this guitar special: You don't see very many SG's from the early '80s so this one's kind of a rare find. Strong, dark cherry finish & small guard give it a cool vibe. Nice weight & very resonant, not to mention the neck is super comfortable to play. Professionally set up by Cream City Music with fresh strings & low action.
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & mild finish wear. There's a tiny bit of finish disruption on the back of the headstock just above the serial number. Perhaps the guitar was a factory second, but it's impossible to tell. Structurally & electronically there are zero issues with the guitar. Neck is straight & plays great & the pickups sound fantastic!
Neck: Wide, medium profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & black micro dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Original frets are in great shape with no wear. Gibson branded tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Contoured, solid mahogany body. 5-ply, small black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Stopbar tailpiece with Tune-O-Matic bridge. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 10.5 oz.
Pickups: Original Gibson humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge - 7.47K ohms; Neck - 5.16K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with black speed knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to '80 & '81. All electronics are original & in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
