Description
Condition: This Strat is in great shape for a guitar over 30 years old! There are various scratches, nicks, dings and dents throughout the instrument; most notable are a couple of large chips on the lower bass side bout (see photos). There are four filled in screw holes on the headstock from a previous locking nut system and some of the original screws are included in the case. Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear with heavier wear towards the lower registers. The neck is mostly straight with nice, comfortable action and the truss rod and neck tilt adjustments function fine. The bridge has been replaced with a Kahler vibrato bridge and some touch-up solder work has been done. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid contoured body in an Olympic white finish. The finish has acquired a beautiful patina giving this instrument a true vintage look. Kahler vibrato bridge with six individual saddles and an unoriginal trem arm. Dual skirted control knobs and a 5-ply pearloid pickguard.
Neck: Slender maple neck with skunk stripe down the back and a neck tilt screw at the heel. Maple fingerboard with black dot inlays and a 1 ¾” nut. Sealed Fender tuners, 25.5” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Original Fender single-coil pickups in the neck, middle and bridge with master volume control, master tone control and a 5-way selector switch. \
Neck; 6.60K Ohms.
Middle: 5.89K Ohms.
Bridge: 5.71K Ohms.
Weight: 8lbs, 2.5oz.
Playability/Sound: This is a great sounding 80s Strat. The pickups provide all the classic fender tone players have come to know and love. The Olympic white finish looks incredible thanks to the natural patina and gives the guitar an authentic look that would be very costly to recreate in a newer custom guitar. The bridge, though unoriginal works very well and gives the player added control over the overall playability.
Case: Includes unoriginal newer model Fender hardshell case.
