Description

What makes this guitar special: This V is a rock machine! As lightweight as they come, with a solid alder body and a fantastic natural resonance, finished in black with a set of hot open coil humbuckers that sound absolutely awesome. The C-shaped maple neck in tandem with the smooth rosewood fingerboard make it a dream to play, and are sure to have you picking away for hours at a time. Dating to ’84, this piece could very well have been one of the last made in the Kalamazoo factory, before the company completely moved production to Nashville. As always, this piece has been professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play.

Cosmetic condition: Definitely used, but not abused, with some honest wear throughout. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs present, with surface level buckle rash visible throughout much of the back of the body. The headstock shows some scuffs and scratches, and there is tarnishing on the hardware. A previous owner installed a pickguard, for which holes have been drilled. The pickguard does look like it was cut professionally, so we left it on.

Body: Solid V-shaped alder body in black finish. Tune-O-Matic bridge and chrome stopbar tailpiece. Black pickup bezels and unoriginal 3-ply white pickguard.

Weight: 6 lb, 13.2 oz

Neck: C-shaped solid maple neck with pearl side dots and pearl dot inlays. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Pointed headstock with chrome-sealed Gibson tuners and gold Gibson logo. Rosewood fingerboard is in great shape, and while frets show some wear, they still have a lot of life left in them. Neck is straight and truss rod functions as it should.

Electronics: Dual Gibson humbuckers with exposed coils (Bridge-14.88k ohms, Neck-15.35k ohms). 3-way pickup selector switch with black tophat knobs, 2x volume, 1x tone.

Case: Unoriginal Epiphone hard shell case included.
