Description
What makes this guitar special: A rare bird, manufactured for a brief period in the mid-80s by Fender Japan, and designed by master luthier Jimmy D’Aquisto. This piece sports all the hallmarks of quality craftsmanship-a fabulous natural resonance, beautiful appointments (adorned with an ebony fingerboard, bridge, tailpiece, pickguard, and control knobs), and spectacular playability. The black & white motif looks fantastic, and the specially voiced Schaller humbucker provides a pleasing, fat & jazzy tone. A professional setup is included, so all you’ll have to worry about is tuning it!
Cosmetic condition: Terrific shape for its age, with some honest wear throughout. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, and scuffs present, with some minor tarnishing on the hardware, and very minor fretwear. There is also some visible finish checking, which is primarily only visible under direct light. For its age, this piece is an 8/10.
Body: Double bound laminated maple back & sides with spruce top in black finish. Dual bound f-holes, bound ebony pickguard, ebony tailpiece, and compensated ebony bridge with floating ebony base.
Weight: 6 lb, 2 oz
Neck: Slim C-shaped solid maple neck with bound ebony fingerboard, black side dots, and pearl block inlays. 1 3/4" nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Bound headstock overlay with pearl Fender logo & “Designed by D’Aquisto” torch. Gold Fender tuners with ebony buttons work great. Neck is straight and truss rod is functional.
Electronics: Single Schaller humbucker in the neck position (8.62k ohms) with ebony control knobs, 1x tone, 1x volume.
Case: Original hard shell case included.
