Description
What makes this guitar special: Manufactured during Fender’s American transition, the Fender contemporary series offerings came in a variety of pickup configurations and featured numerous experimental tremolo systems. Of all these models, the 27-4300 is closest in spec to the original design, with triple single coils, a slab rosewood fingerboard, and a traditional electronics layout. This particular piece showcases a rare Metallic Blue finish, and a System I tremolo with locking nut, although presently the locking nut is not in use. This piece has been professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play.
Cosmetic condition: Terrific shape for a guitar with 30+ years under its belt. There are some expected signs of wear throughout, including various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, and scuffs, along with some light pickwear on the guard and mild tarnishing on the hardware.
Body: Contoured double cutaway alder body in metallic blue finish. 3-ply white pickguard with white pickup covers and white skirted knobs. Fender Schaller System I tremolo bridge. 4 of the 6 microtuners are missing from the bridge. Included tremolo arm is unoriginal.
Weight: 8 lb, 4 oz
Neck: Slim D-shaped solid maple neck with white side dots, pearl dot inlays, and rosewood slab fingerboard. Frets do show some wear, but have a ton of life left in them. 1 11/16” nut width. 25 1/2" scale length. The locking nut mechanism does not include the locking mechanism, and essentially functions as a string-tree. Chrome sealed Fender Japan tuners work great. Neck is straight and truss rod is functional.
Electronics: Original Fender Japan single coil pickups (Neck-5.62k ohms, Middle-5.92k ohms, Bridge-5.70k ohms) with 5-way pickup selector switch and white skirted knobs, 2x tone, 1x volume.
Case: Unoriginal, vintage hard shell case included.
