Description
What makes this guitar special: An early version of a familiar favorite, this ES-135 features a super comfortable neck profile, full-sounding P100 pickups, and a dazzling sunburst finish that has aged beautifully. It has been player upgraded with a set of Grover tuners, and plays like an absolute dream up and down the length of the neck. Professionally inspected and setup by the experts at Cream City Music, it will arrive ready to play out of the case!
Cosmetic condition: This one shows some wear consistent with age, but it’s all honest. Various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs are present, along with a handful of areas of finish wear and visible finish checking throughout the entire instrument. The tuners have been replaced with Grover Rotomatics, and there is visible tarnishing on much of the hardware. There is also a single chip in the finish on the side of the headstock (see photos) and some binding shrinkage present.
Body: Double bound maple body with some nice birdseye figuring finished in sunburst with dual f-holes & Florentine cutaway. Trapeze tailpiece and Tune-O-Matic bridge. Multi-ply black pickguard and black pickup covers.
Weight: 8 lb, 9.1 oz
Neck: Nicely rounded 3-piece maple neck with aged white side dots and pearl dot inlays. Black headstock overlay with gold Gibson & ES-135 logos. Replacement Grover Rotomatic tuners work great, but there are visible holes from the original tuners. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Rosewood fingerboard is in great shape, and frets show modest wear for their age. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.
Electronics: Dual P100 stacked single coil pickups with 3-way pickup selector switch and gold speed knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume.
Case: Original Gibson gigbag included.
