Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a great late ’70s Japanese-made Epiphone dreadnought. This specific model was only made for a few years and shares a variety of features with other FT models produced around the same time. Aesthetically, it is pretty simple with minimal appointments, but it still sounds solid through and through. Its overall tone begins with a compressed low end that opens up into the lively and expressive mid-range, and finally up into a high end that is crisp and clear with pleasant chime. Plus, considering its age, it is still in great shape, showing only light marks throughout, so it still looks as great as it plays and sounds.
Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does show various small dings, dents, nicks, and scratches, but is still in great shape, especially considering its age. The frets show only light wear and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Double bound dreadnought body composed of a spruce top and laminate mahogany back and sides. 3-ring rosette. Black teardrop pickguard. Rosewood bridge and non-compensated adjustable saddle.
Neck: Slim to medium depth C shape bolt-on mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. Zero fret. Chrome sealed tuning machines. 1 ¾” nut width. 25.5” scale.
Weight: 5 lbs 7 oz
Playability/Sound: The neck plays easily and the wider nut width is barely noticeable in terms of feel, but still provides a bit of extra string spacing. The overall tone starts with a compressed low end and centers around a lively mid-range that extends into a crisp top end.
Case: Includes hardshell case.
