Description
Exceptionally rare & ultra cool acoustic bass made by Ernie Ball in Costa Mesa, CA. Ernie Ball pioneered some the earliest large body acoustic basses at the start of the '70s, with production numbers being relatively low. We've had several of these beauties over the years & they don't stick around for very long, so don't miss out on a great opportunity to own this exciting & unique gem. The bass has been professionally set up by us & sounds fantastic, with a rich, deep tone - tons of fun to play!
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There are a few top cracks that have all been professionally repaired - glued & cleated. Overall the bass has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina & authentic vintage vibe.
Neck: Maple neck & fingerboard with dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Maple headstock with Ernie Ball floral "E" emblem. Grover nickel "clover" tuners. 1 9/11" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod functions fine.
Body: Double-bound, super large acoustic body. Solid spruce top with multi-ring rosette & no pickguard. Rosewood bridge with maple inlay. Solid walnut back & sides. 18 1/4" lower bout width; 14" upper bout width; 6 3/4" depth; 25" body length; 50" overall length. There are no electronics & the bass weighs 7 lbs 1.3 oz.
Case: Upright bass gig bag included - a bit big for this instrument, but at least there's a gig bag.
