Description

What makes this guitar special? This is a very unique Japanese-made Fender dreadnought that was only produced for a few years in the mid ‘80s. The most distinctive feature is the Florentine-style cutaway that allows players to reach all of the way up into the upper frets with ease. Its style largely follows that of many dreadnoughts with its double binding, three-ring rosette, and teardrop pickguard, but this model comes with an electric style neck that features Fender’s distinct Strat-style headstock. The feel of the neck perfectly follows suit with a medium depth C shape profile that moves as well as any electric. It also features Fender’s pleasantly transparent electronics system complete with an endpin-mounted jack, volume control, tone control, and notch filter.

Condition: This guitar is in good condition overall. It does possess various nicks, dings, dents, scuffs, scratches, chips, and other forms of wear, as well as one area about two inches long on the back lower bout where the finish and a small amount of the wood have been chipped away from a mild impact (the area is still stable and ok), and a small split in the grain near the first tuning machine on the headstock, but still looks great for a 30-year-old instrument and sounds the same. The frets show only light wear and still have a lot of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod is functioning.

Body: Double bound dreadnought body with a Florentine-style cutaway, solid spruce top, and laminate mahogany back and sides in Natural finish. Stained wood bridge with uncompensated saddle and white bridge pins with abalone dots. Three-ring rosette and tortoiseshell pickguard.

Neck: Medium depth C shape mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with Mother of Pearl cross inlays. Electric-style headstock with sealed chrome tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width. 25.5” scale.

Electronics: Fender electronics system with 1 x volume, 1 x tone, and 1 x notch filter control.

Weight: 5 lbs 1.5 oz

Playability/Sound: The electric-style neck on this guitar is very easy playing from the nut up into the cutaway. The body produces a nicely pronounced and classically boxy mid-range with a crisp top end and controlled low end.

Case: Includes gig bag.
