Description
An excellent player's grade Jazz Bass from 1966. The original finish has been stripped off the body making it now natural. The neck is silky smooth to play & the double single coils deliver rich, dynamic tones. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, dents & dings; scratches & some finish wear. The screw holes for the bridge cover & tugbar have been plugged.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Original frets are in very good condition with not much wear. Fender "lollipop" tuners with strap button on the back of the headstock & round string tree. 1 1/2" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. The neck has been oversprayed & the date stamp reads 7 SEP 66 A.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body stripped down to a natural finish that has also been oversprayed. Original top-loading bridge with four adjustable threaded saddles. There is no bridge cover. Unoriginal 5-ply black pickguard & strap buttons. Bass weighs 9 lbs even.
Electronics: Original single coils with black covers. Dual volume & master tone controls with unoriginal knurled knobs. Pots date to '66 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
