Description

An outstanding Jazz Bass offering superb tone & playability. The perfectly shaped neck is exceptionally comfortable & plays great up & down the fretboard. The body is very resonant & the pair of single coils deliver warm, rich, dynamic tones. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play straight out of the case.

Cosmetic Condition: This was definitely someone's go-to bass - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & finish wear. A social security number is etched into the back of the headstock. Overall the bass has great look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & beautiful patina.

Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with beautifully aged white binding & black side-dots. Super dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Fender open-gear "clover" tuners & round string tree. 1 1/2" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod functions fine. Neck stamp reads 7 SEP 68 A.

Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in 3-Tone Sunburst. Top-loading bridge with four adjustable "barrel" saddles. The bridge cover is missing. 4-ply tortoise pickguard is in great shape with no cracks, but the tugbar is missing. There's an extra screw hole in the back of the bass-side horn from a previous strap button. Bass weighs 8 lbs 11.1 oz & is exceptionally resonant!

Electronics: Two single coils with black covers. Pickups date to '68. Dual volume & master tone controls. The tone pot is unoriginal, but both volume pots date to '66 & all electronics are in good working condition.

Case: Original hardshell case included.
