Description
100% original & just recently acquired from the original owner. Killer tone & feel with an ultra cool, true vintage vibe. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear with a great look to it - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, buckle rash & some finish wear. Back in the '70s the original owner had an additional mirror pickguard on the bass-side, hence the six additional screw holes in the top. Overall the bass has a super cool vibe with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Maple neck with beautiful, dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show a tiny bit of wear, but have plenty of life in them. Headstock decal is in great shape with no bits missing. Open-gear nickel tuners in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck stamp reads 5 FEB 66 C.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in Candy Apple Red. Top-loading bridge with four adjustable "barrel" saddles & original bridge cover. 3-ply mint pickguard in great shape with no cracks. Bass weighs 8 lbs 12.7 oz. Great weight & very resonant!
Electronics: Split single coil with original cover. Pickup dates to '66. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs. Pots date to '66 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. Case also shows some wear & tear, similar to the bass.
