Description
Every now & then we get in an instrument that stirs up a lot of excitement here at the shop - something that has just the right look, feel & tone. This ultra cool 1970 P-Bass is that instrument. A true vintage beauty with an authentic vibe that just cannot be replicated in any custom shop. Why buy new when you can own the real deal for the same amount of money. Don't let this one slip through your fingers; it won't last long!
Cosmetic Condition: This was obviously someone's go-to bass & shows off lots of good honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & finish wear throughout. A super cool look with killer mojo & a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with dark rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. The white side-dots have been touched up with some paint. Professionally refretted & the frets are in great shape with no wear. There's an extra screw hole in the front of the headstock from a previous string tree. Open-gear nickel tuners are in good working condition. 1 9/16" nut width with unoriginal brass nut; 34" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. The red ink at the butt of the neck is not original.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in 3-tone sunburst. Top-loading bridge with four adjustable "barrel" saddles. 4-ply tortoise pickguard with black finger rest. There are a couple of tiny cracks in the pickguard down by the input jack. Bass weighs 8 lbs 11.2 oz.
Electronics: Original grey bottom split single coil pickup. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs. Pots are unoriginal & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. A portion of the left clasp is missing so it doesn't latch. The case is in similar condition to the bass.
