Description
A magnificent player's grade Stratocaster offering superb tone & playability. The body was refinishsed back in the late '60s by the original owner, but everything else on the guitar is original, right down to the 3-way selector switch. The white case is from '63, so from just a slightly later period than the guitar, but still a rare case nonetheless, which couples well with the guitar. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's ready for you upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: Good, honest play wear, just the way we like to see them - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Overall the guitar has a great vibe to it, with an authentic vintage look & gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender, C-shape maple neck with beautiful, dark Brazilian rosewood slab fingerboard & clay dot inlays. Original frets show some wear, but still have some life in them. Spaghetti headstock logo is in great shape. Single-line Kluson Deluxe tuners & single string tree. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck date is 5-60.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body refinished in blue sometime in the late '60s. Tremolo bridge with original trem arm & bridge cover included! 3-ply mint pickguard has one tiny crack near the neck pickup, but is in otherwise great shape. Single-ply mint trem cover is in great shape too. Guitar weighs a delightful 7 lbs 7.6 oz & is very resonant.
Electronics: Original black bottom single coils with staggered poles & original cloth wiring. Bridge - 5.69K ohms; Middle - 5.78K ohms; 5.60K ohms. Master volume & dual tone controls with 3-way selector switch. Pots date to '60 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Vintage 1963 Fender white hardshell case included.
