Description
We love getting old guitars in the shop that have been given "folk art" treatment & this old '70s Strat certainly falls into that category. The previous owner engraved or burned in marijuana leaves into the top of the body & added a dancing hula girl decal. Upgraded electronics & a pro set up ensure it's a true player's dream. Cool vibe & great tone!
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & some finish wear. The guitar has been well-played & modified over the years, but still offers an authentic vintage vibe with wonderful personality, not to mention a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender profile, nicely rounded maple neck & fingerboard with black dot inlays. Original small frets are in great shape with plenty of life in them. Large headstock with bullet truss rod & double string trees. Headstock decals are in great shape with no bits missing. F tuners in good working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. At one point a 4-bolt neck was on the guitar, hence the extra screw holes in the body, but not in the neck. Neck stamp dates to '75, however, the neck plate dates to '72.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body in natural finish. Original tremolo bridge with adjustable saddles. Unoriginal 3-ply aged white pickguard & trem cover. The body was routed under the pickguard for different pickups at one time. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 5.3 oz. Nice weight & quite resonant actually.
Electronics: Unoriginal Fender Custom Shop Strat single coils with staggered poles & aged white covers. Bridge - 5.99K ohms; Middle - 6.01K ohms; Neck - 6.03K ohms. Master volume & dual tone controls with 5-way selector switch. Unoriginal pots & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Fender hardshell case included. A couple of the back hinges are missing, but the case still closes & latches shut.
