Description
A rare vintage 1963 Fender Vibroverb tube combo amp. Manufactured only in late 1963 and early 1964, the blackface Vibroverb is one of the rarest Fender amplifiers, and this one includes the uber-rare original brown footswitch, which could be considered a collector's item on its own. Stevie Ray Vaughn's preferred amp, the 1x15 Vibroverb is considered by many to be a 'holy grail' of tone.
This example is in fantastic shape overall and is all original aside from some standard maintenance changes. There are a couple minor tolex and grill cloth blemishes. Additionally, some numbers have been etched in the chassis above the serial number. Circuit-wise, all of the electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, but all but but one of the original signal-carrying capacitors and Allen Bradley carbon comp resistors remain. All transformers are original.
Sound-wise, this amp is everything you'd expect from from the king of blackface Fender amps. It has massive bottom end and sparkly, extended highs. As you turn up the volume, its perfect clean tone transitions into the classic blackface mid-gain growl. Ideal for any serious player, studio or vintage amp collection. This amp has been cleaned and serviced it is fully functional and sounds absolutely fantastic. Includes original Brown footswitch.
