Description

What makes this guitar special: This is a great vintage Framus with excellent tone and a unique build. The most immediately noticeable aspect is that it has an arched maple back which provides an extra bit of tonal body and just as much added volume over a standard flat-backed dreadnought design. The tone itself starts with a nicely compressed low end that extends into a rich and lively mid-range, and up into a top end that’s full of chime. The cuts of maple used for the back and sides show subtle flaming that gives its Sunburst finish that much more of an aesthetic touch. The boat-shaped neck plays very easily and feels similar to a more rounded version of a soft V. In addition, this guitar is in fantastic shape for its age, and surely represents itself as well in look as it does in tone.

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall, if not better, especially considering it’s a few decades old. It does possess various nicks, dings, dents, scuffs, and scratches, but is still in fantastic shape for its age. The frets show only light wear and still have a considerable amount of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod is functioning.

Body: Double bound dreadnought body with a spruce top, laminate maple sides, and arched laminate maple back in Sunburst finish. Two-ring rosette. Tortoiseshell pickguard. Rosewood bridge with uncompensated saddle. White bridge pins with black dots.

Neck: Medium depth boat-shaped laminate neck and rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. Zero fret. Vintage-style 3-per-side open-gear tuning machines. 1 5/8” nut width. 24 ¾” scale.

Weight: 4 lbs 7 oz

Playability/Sound: The neck on this guitar has a unique feel, but is by no means uncomfortable and feels similar to a more rounded soft V. The overall tone is great, with a nicely compressed low end, rich and lively mid-range, and a top end chock-full of chime, all of which provides a good volume ceiling as well.

Case: Include semi-hardshell case.
