Description
A super cool, true vintage Gibson ES-325TD, formerly owner by late Chicago bluesman, Killer Ray Allison. The serial number is missing from the back of the headstock, but the pots date to '74, so it was made around that time. Featuring a semi-hollow maple body with a pair of gorgeous sounding mini humbuckers. Set up & ready to play upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, heavy weather checking & some finish wear - mostly on the back of the neck. The treble-side headstock flange was reglued & there's also some glue in between the base of the neck heel & body, but it doesn't appear the neck has ever been off. The name Ray Killer Allison is scratched into the pickguard & Killer is scratched into the truss rod cover. The guitar has a really cool look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & plays great.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but still have plenty of life in them. Unoriginal Gibson Deluxe tuners work great. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-bound, semi-hollow maple body with single F-hole. Trapeze tailpiece with ABR-1 bridge. Single-ply black pickguard & control panel. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 11 oz.
Electronics: Original mini humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge - 5.87K ohms; Neck - 5.85K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with unoriginal black "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to '74 & electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Vintage hardshell case included. The case is pretty rough with lots of tears in the tolex & the name Killa Ray Allison is written in marker on the inside top lid.
