Description

100% original & just recently acquired from the original owner. The ES-340 is very similar in build to the ES-335, but with slightly different electronics. Rather than the typical dual volume & tone controls, the ES-340 offers a single master treble & bass blender control allowing front or rear pickups to be activated individually or simultaneously. Players may select any desired mixture of highs & lows. The three position toggle switch functions as follows: 1) normal position for standard guitar sounds which can be used in conjunction with blender, volume & tone controls; 2) center position for "out-of-phase" for snarly type sound; 3) standby position. Most ES-340's tend to get modified like a 335, but this one is exactly as it should be & sounds fantastic. Professionally set up by Cream City Music, so it plays great too!

Cosmetic Condition: Typical mild play wear for its age - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & weather checking. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & gorgeous patina.

Neck: Slender profile maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Small frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Gibson Deluxe tuners with double-ring Keystone buttons. The G tuner is slightly bent, but still functions properly. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.

Body: Double bound, semi-hollow birch body with solid, hard rock maple center piece & dual F-holes. Trapeze tailpiece & ABR-1 bridge with nylon saddles. 5-ply small black pickguard & the guitar weighs 8 lbs 3.14 oz.

Electronics: Dual Gibson humbuckers with black bezels. 3-way toggle switch & black "witch hat" knobs. All electronics are in good working condition.

Case: Original hardshell case included with replacement handle.
