Description
Initially introduced as part of the Firebird 76 series from the mid to late '70s, then renamed the Firebird I in 1980, this gorgeous guitar features gold hardware & is finished in Heritage Cherry. An exquisite player, loaded with a pair of creamy sounding mini humbuckers that kick out rich, robust tones. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused, and in pretty good shape actually considering its age - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & some tarnish/wear on the gold hardware. Overall the guitar has an ultra cool look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with aged white side-dots. Dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Professionally refretted with medium jumbo frets that are clean with no wear. Reverse headstock with banjo-style tuners. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly. The original store decal is still on the back of the headstock.
Body: Neck-thru design with solid mahogany wings. Stopbar tailpiece & Tune-O-Matic bridge with gold hardware. 3-ply white pickguard with red Firebird logo. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 9.8 oz.
Electronics: Gibson mini humbuckers with gold bezels & 3-way toggle switch. Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. Pots date to '80 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Later-period Gibson Firebird case included.
