Description
A vintage 1951 Gibson GA-30 tube combo amp in player grade condition. A previous owner did a number on this amp long ago--with new tolex, grill cloth, rivets, handle, etc. Additionally, the cabinet was modified to accommodate an additional "tweeter" speaker, with a hole cut in the side. This speaker has been removed, but the cabinet hole remains.
Cosmetics aside, the amp's original circuitry is largely intact--with original transformers and most original resistors and coupling caps. The speakers, while non-original, are a great sounding pair of vintage Acme Alnicos.
Sonically, this amp is really fun to play. The instrument channel has a deep clean tone that gets nice and raw as you turn it up. Meanwhile, the the microphone channel offers and over-the-top crunch that rivals a lot of Marshalls. An incredible player-grade Gibson that offers authentic mid-century tone for a bargain. This amp has been cleaned and serviced. It is fully functiona and sounds absolutely fantastic.
