Description
It's getting harder & harder to find 100 plus year old guitars these days that still play & sound great. This one still offers excellent playability & a sweet tone. Featuring a beefy, V-shaped neck with a bright, punchy voice, this fun L-1 archtop would make a wonderful addition to any vintage guitar collection. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The rims have separated a little from the back & top in a few areas where they jut out a bit. Overall the guitar has a really cool look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Super chunky, V-shaped mahogany neck with nicely aged ivoroid binding & tortoise side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with practically no wear. Open-gear strip tuners with ivoroid buttons. 1 7/8" nut width; 24 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & plays well up & down the fretboard.
Body: Solid Adirondak spruce top with ivoroid binding. Bound soundhole with multi-ring rosette. Pat Pend nickel trapeze tailpiece with unoriginal chrome cross-bar. Compensated ebony bridge on a floating base. Pickguard is missing. Solid birch back & sides. 13 3/4" lower bout width; 10" upper bout width; 3 1/4" depth. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 3 lbs 8.7 oz.
