Description
An excellent player's grade L-2 Archtop with a gorgeous voice - sweet, rich tone that leans a bit more to the brighter side. The super chunky neck is actually very comfortable & the guitar is a real joy to play.
Cosmetic Condition: Pretty good shape actually for a guitar that's over 100 years old! Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There are a couple of cracks in the back of the body - one was glued & the other is still open. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with an authentic true vintage vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Super chunky V-shaped mahogany neck with nicely aged ivoroid binding & dark side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Brand new strip tuners in perfect working condition. 1 7/8" nut width; 24 1/4" scale length. Neck is straight & plays well up & down the fretboard.
Body: Double-bound, 13 3/4" wide archtop with round soundhole. Solid spruce top finished in an orange/caramel color. Multi-ring rosette & bound soundhole. Trapeze tailpiece with adjustable ebony bridge. The pickguard is missing. Solid birch back & sides. The back is also arched & the guitar weighs a delightful 3 lbs 15.4 oz.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
