Just recently acquired from a family member of the original owner. Super cool vibe & a dynamite player with incredible tone & feel. Even before you plug in, the guitar is exceptionally resonant & has a gorgeous, natural acoustic ring to it. The "dog ear" P-90 is a muscular yet dynamic sounding single coil that delivers rich, tantalizing tones. Cosmetic Condition: Exactly what you'd expect from a nearly 60-year old guitar - lots of good, honest play wear & some road rash - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There's a crack in the body that starts around the control knobs & wraps around the back to the control cover. It's been professionally glued & is stable. The neck appears to have been reset at some point & was refinished around the neck heel area. There are no neck cracks & it was a pro job. Aside from that there's no other serious damage to the guitar. Overall it has a great look to it with an authentic, true vintage vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Wide profile, one-piece mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but still have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe strip tuners work perfectly. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works great.
Body: Contoured, one-piece, solid mahogany body that's lightweight & super resonant. Compensated, wrap-around nickel bridge. 2-ply small black pickguard has shrunk over the years, but no cracks. Guitar weighs a delightful 5 lbs 15.6 oz. Under 6 lbs!
Electronics: P-90 single coil with black "dog ear" cover - 7.82K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs. Solder points on the pots are original & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original faux alligator chipboard case included, however, the handle is missing.
