Description

We love vintage player's grade guitars & this one is about as cool as they come - a bonafide '56 Les Paul Special in original TV Yellow finish. She's been through the mill, but still manages to maintain ultra cool vintage mojo. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case!

Cosmetic Condition: Lots of good honest play wear just the way we like 'em - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There's a headstock repair that was well-done & is very stable. A portion of the back of the headstock was refinished after the repair, however, the original serial number was left visible which is great. The finish was removed from the back of the neck & actually shows off some nice flame figuring in the mahogany - how cool is that! Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.

Neck: V-shaped, chunky mahogany neck with cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Super dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Small frets show some wear, but still have play in them. Unoriginal Gotoh tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.

Body: Single cutaway, solid mahogany body in original TV Yellow finish. Unoriginal wrap-around bridge with nickel hardware. Original 5-ply black pickguard & 3-ply jackplate. Unoriginal strap buttons. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 8.5 oz.

Electronics: Original P-90 neck pickup with black "soap bar" cover - 7.53K ohms. Unoriginal "double cream" bridge humbucker with black bezel - 8.43K ohms. There are no markings on the humbucker so we're not exactly sure what make/model it is. Also, the pickups are out of phase when the toggle switch is in the middle position. Dual volume & tone controls with repro "top hat" knobs & 3-way toggle switch. Pots are unoriginal, but all electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
