Description
What makes this guitar special: An excellent player's grade Melody Maker thanks to the upgraded Schaller tuners & a more finely intonatable bridge. The neck is super comfy to play & the single coil bridge pickup kicks out some rich, spanky tones. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action, so it's ready to hit the stage upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There is a 2 pressed into the back of the headstock indicating the guitar was a factory second, however, there are no issues structurally or playability-wise. Overall the guitar has a wonderful, authentic vintage look to it with a nice patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck that gets chunkier as you work your way up the fretboard. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays & cream side-dots. A few of the pearl dot are newer replacements, but match up fairly well with the originals. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Unoriginal Schaller tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-cutaway, solid mahogany body. Unoriginal wrap-around bridge with individually adjustable brass saddles. Original single-ply black pickguard with Melody Maker logo is in good shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 2.2 oz.
Electronics: Original single coil bridge pickup - 7.37K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs. Pots are older & appear to be original (difficult to read the codes) & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Padded gig bag included.
