An excellent player's grade, true vintage Melody Maker D. The finished has been completely stripped off & the tuners are Grover Pat Pend Rotomatics. A dynamite player with an ulta cool vibe. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Pretty good shape overall with some modifications. Various nicks & dings along with surface scratches. The finish was completely stripped off & the headstock logo is now gone. There's an unknown goop of metal in the control cavity which appears to be lead. Overall the guitar has a cool look to it with a groovy vintage vibe.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Unorignal Grover Pat Pend Rotomatic tuners. 1 5/8" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-cutaway, solid mahogany body in natural, stripped finish. Original compensated, wrap-around nickel bridge & single-ply black pickguard with Melody Maker logo. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 15.9 oz.
Electronics: Original neck single coil is missing its cover. Unoriginal bridge single coil. Dual volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Vintage chipboard case included.
