Description

We get a lot of modified Melody Makers, so it's always a real treat to come across one that's all original, like this ultra cool double-cutaway, double pickup model. This beauty dates to '63 & sports a perfectly sculpted, semi-chunky neck that plays great up & down the fretboard. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it plays & sounds fabulous.

Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear, just the way we like to see them - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some mild finis wear. Overall the guitar looks great, with an authentic vintage vibe & beautiful patina.

Neck: Mahogany neck that gets chunkier as you work your way up to the body. Beautfiul Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays & cream side-dots. Frets show a bit of wear, but have plenty of life in them. Open-gear strip tuners work fine. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.

Body: Double-cutaway, solid mahogany body with sunburst finish top. Compensated, wrap-around bridge with nickel hardware. Single-ply black pickguard with white Melody Maker logo. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 9.5 oz. Light weight & exceptionally resonant!

Electronics: Two single coils with black covers & 3-way toggle switch. Bridge - 7.32K ohms; Neck - 6.83K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. Pots date to '63 & all electronics are in good working condition.

Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included. The back latch is missing.
