Description
100% original & just recently acquired from the original owner. Light weight, resonant & tons of fun to play, these vintage Melody Makers have always been a favorite here at Cream City Music, and thanks to a pro set up, this one plays exceptionally well.
Cosmetic Condition: Really nice shape for being nearly 60 years old! Various little nicks, chips, dents & dings along with surface scratches. There's a 2 pressed into the back of the headstock just above the serial number, which indicates the guitar was a factory second. However, there are no issues structurally or electronically. Overall the guitar has a great vibe to it with an authentic vintage look.
Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show a little bit of wear, but have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe strip tuners work fine. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double cutaway, solid mahogany body with sunburst finish top. Tremolo tailpiece with compensated bridge & nickel hardware. Single-ply black pickguard with Melody Maker logo. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 6 oz.
Electronics: One single coil in the bridge position. Master volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. Pots date to '64 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Vintage chipboard case included.
