Description
These RD Customs are an increasingly rare find as they were only made between '77 & '79. A slightly different calling card from your typical Gibson, featuring an active circuit & brightness toggle developed by Moog for a variety of unique tones. The longer scale length offers a tighter sound that falls somewhere between a standard Gibson & an overdriven Telecaster. The all-maple construction looks super cool & is essentially bulletproof with a bright, mid-balanced sound that fits nicely in virtually any mix. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to perform straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & some finish wear. There's a bit of filler near each strap button from being moved a bit. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a true vintage vibe & nice patina.
Neck: 3-piece maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Maple fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Typical small frets in good shape with hardly any wear. Gibson diecast tuners work great. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Contoured, solid maple body in natural finish. Stopbar tailpiece with ABR-1 bridge & 4-ply black pickguard. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 1.6 oz.
Electronics: Dual Gibson Patent No. humbuckers with 3-way pickup selector switch.
Brightness switch, active Moog circuit, and black speed knobs. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
