Description
Made for only a brief moment from around '77 to '79, Gibson's RD Standard features all-maple construction & loaded with a pair of muscular yet dynamic sounding humbuckers that deliver rich, robust tones. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music with fresh strings & low action.
Cosmetic Condition: Really great shape for its age with only mild play wear - various little nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & naturally aged hardware. Overall the guitar looks great, with ultra cool vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: 3-piece maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Maple fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original small frets are in great shape with practically no wear (fretless wonder). Grover tuners & RD Standard truss rod cover. 1 11/16" width bone nut; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Contoured, solid maple body shows off some pretty bird's eye figuring. Stopbar tailpiece & Tune-O-Matic bridge with 5-ply black pickguard. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 6.9 oz.
Electronics: Original Gibson bridge humbucker & unoriginal PRS neck humbucker with black bezels. The original neck pickup is dead, but is included with the guitar. Dual volume & tone controls with black speed knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to '77 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
