Description
One of Gretsch's more deluxe versions in the Chet Atkins line, this Super Chet features exquisite abalone inlays in the headstock, fingerboard & tailpiece along with gold hardware. Loaded with a pair of glassy sounding FilterTron humbuckers with pickguard-mounted controls. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: The guitar itself is in pretty good shape, but unfortunately the binding has deteriorated or is completely missing in several spots. Also, the Autumn Red finish has aged & faded quite a bit over the years into more of a rust color. Authentic vintage vibe with a nice patina though.
Neck: Rounded, wide profile maple neck with aged white binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with intricate abalone inlays. Frets are in great shape with just a little wear. Bound headstock also with intricate abalone inlays. Gold Schaller tuners turn smoothly. 1 3/4" nut width with zero fret; 24 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Hollow maple body with bound F-holes. 5-ply bound top & back; 7-ply middle binding. Trapeze tailpiece with abalone inlays. Adjustable bridge with ebony base. Thick black plexi pickguard with Gretsch Super Chet logo. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 15.4 oz.
Electronics: Dual FilterTron humbuckers with gold bezels & 3-way toggle switch. Dual volume & tone controls with master volume - all mounted to the pickguard. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. The handle is a replacement.
