One of the most instantly recognizable basses on the planet, the Hofner 500/1 has been at the forefront of countless numbers of rock groups for over six decades. This wonderful example has an ultra cool, true vintage vibe to it with a comfortable feel & gorgeous tone. Professionally set up & ready for action straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused, with typical mild play wear - various minor nicks & dings; surface scratches. Overall the bass has a great look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Rounded maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with practically no wear. Closed-back tuners work great. 1 9/16" nut width with zero fret; 30" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-bound, violin-shaped body in sunburst finish. Spruce top with maple back & sides that show off some lovely flame figuring. Nickel trapeze tailpiece with adjustable ebony bridge & pearloid pickguard. A tug bar was added by the previous owner. Bass weighs 4 lbs 9.9 oz.
Electronics: Dual "blade" single coils with black bezels. Dual volume control knobs. Rhythm/Solo, Bass & Treble switches. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
