Cosmetic Condition: This 100% original, gorgeous bass appears to have been made sometime in the late '60s to early '70s & is in marvelous condition. There are some minor nicks & dings along with mild surface scratches, but other than that the bass is in great shape! The sunburst finish is very strong & vibrant. The neck plays & feels great. The electronics are in perfect working condition. The bass has been professionally set up by us with flatwound strings & low action.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with cream binding & black side-dots. Beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Frets are in perfect condition with no wear. Closed-back tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/6" nut width with zero fret; 30" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Violin-shaped, hollow body with multi-layered top & back binding. Solid spruce top with maple back & sides. Trapeze tailpiece with adjustable ebony bridge. Pearloid pickguard with Hofner logo is in great shape with no cracks. Bass weighs a delightful 4 lbs 14.5 oz.
Pickups: Original Hofner "blade" pickups sound absolutely amazing & very dynamic. Dual "tea cup" volume knobs; Rhythm/Solo, Treble & Bass switches all in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case is included. A bit of the trim on the outside has come unglued, but the case itself is in great shape.
