Description
Description: Vintage Kalamazoo KG-21 Acoustic Archtop Guitar
Condition: Good overall condition. There are two cracks on the back that have not been repaired but are not showing any signs of movement whatsoever and are not affecting sound. There are also two cracks on the top that have not been repaired. One is directly between the upper and lower bass side bouts, the other is along the treble side “F” hole and is separated (see photos). The pickguard is glued to the body near the upper treble side shoulder (see photo). Cosmetically there are various scratches, nicks, dings, dents, weather checking and a beautiful patina throughout the binding that gives this guitar an awesome vintage vibe! Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear and plenty of life left in them. Neck is very straight with nice, low action!
Body: Bound body with arched spruce top and mahogany back and sides in sunburst finish. Nickel trapeze tailpiece, height-adjustable compensated rosewood bridge, dual “F” holes and a single-ply tortoise pickguard. Lowers bout is 14 ¾” wide x 4 ¼” deep. Upper bout is 10 ¼” wide x 3 5/8” deep.
Neck: Mahogany neck with added strap button, rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 ¾” scale length. Three-on-a-strip tuners with ivoroid buttons, 25” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: This guitar has an added body sensor pickup.
Playability/Sound: This guitar has nothing but potential and has a beautiful sound. Fixing the cracks would bring more consistency to the top and back resulting in the best sound and resonance possible. The neck is exceptionally comfortable and suitable for any playing style.
