Description
What makes this guitar special: A textbook example of a player’s guitar, this ES-125 shows its fair share of playwear and scars, but still gets the job done. A vintage piece of Gibson history with plenty of life left, this is a must a have for a collector on a budget. Based on the headstock logo and the non-adjustable P-90 pickup, we believe this guitar to have been manufactured some time between 1948 and 1951. With a professional setup from Cream City Music included, this well-loved beauty will arrive ready to play.
Cosmetic condition: This guitar has clearly been played, and shows wear consistent with its age. There are various scratches, scuffs, nicks, and dings throughout, as well as some finish wear, buckle rash, and expected finish checking. It’s had some work done over the years, but is structurally sound. There are a few repaired cracks throughout the body and the inner bracing appears to have been redone. The neck has been refretted, and a crack beneath the headstock has been repaired at some point as well.
Body: Double-bound maple hollow body with dual f-holes in sunburst finish. Tortoise pickguard is in great shape with no cracking, but does show signs of pickwear. Trapeze tailpiece with compensated rosewood bridge.
Weight: 4lb, 11oz
Neck: Solid mahogany neck with aged white side dots and pearloid dot inlays. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is in great shape with minimal wear. Neck has been refretted, and frets have a ton of life left in them. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Some finish wear is present on the back of the neck. Truss rod functions as it should.
Electronics: Single “Dog Ear” P-90 pickup (7.43K ohms) with barrel knobs (1x tone, 1x volume).
Case: Non-original hard shell case included.
