Description

Just recently acquired from the family of the original owner, this amazing sounding D-28 is a true powerhouse dreadnought, offering a superb playing experience with a magnificent voice that projects exceptionally well & can fill any room. Fully inspected & professionally set up by the experts here at Cream City Music so it's ready to play straight out of the case.

Cosmetic Condition: Very nice condition actually considering it's 75 years old! There are various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. However, there are no cracks or breaks. In short - typical, general play wear - used, but certainly not abused. Authentic vintage vibe with a beautiful patina.

Neck: V-shaped mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Professionally refretted & frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Nickel Kluson "waffle back" tuners & diamond volute. 1 11/16" nut width; 25.4" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fretboard. String height at the 12th fret is about 3/16" & there is plenty room on the saddle.

Body: Double-bound dreadnought in natural finish. Solid Adirondak spruce top with original tortoise pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Original ebony bridge needed to be reglued & the bridge pins are replacements as the originals had crumbled over the years. Solid Brazilian rosewood back & sides with lovely straight-grain patterns. The end pin is also a replacement. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 13.1 oz.

Case: Original hardshell case included along with the original Bobby Lee leather strap. The original case handle broke & was replaced by us, but is included with the guitar.
