Description
Produced for only a short period of time between 1991 & 1998, this gorgeous Limited Edition 12-String is number 584 in a production run of only 1000 guitars. The entire guitar is speckled with superb birdseye figuring set against a beautiful Fireglo finish. The checkered binding & gold plexi pickguard with Tom Petty signature really round out the package. This model rarely comes up for sale, but when they do they're gone fast, and this one is absolutely stunning!
Cosmetic Condition: Really great shape for a guitar that's over 30 years old - various nicks, chips, dents & dings along with surface scratches - used, but certainly not abused with a very cool vibe & super comfortable feel.
Neck: Beautifully figured birdseye & flame maple neck with nicely aged white binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl 'shark tooth' inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Slotted headstock with vintage style Ric Deluxe tuners. 1 3/4" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rods work fine.
Body: Neck-thru design with solid maple wings & checkered top binding. Just like the neck, the body is absolutely peppered with stunning birdseye figuring throughout. Trapeze tailpiece with 12-saddle adjustable bridge. Split-level gold plexi pickguard with Tom Petty Limited Edition logo. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 0.7 oz.
Electronics: Vintage style "toaster top" single coils. Dual volume & tone controls with boost blend; 3-way toggle switch & mono output. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original vintage style hardshell case included along with Ric polish cloth & replacement COA from Rickenbacker.
