Description
Condition: This lap steel is in good shape for its age! There are various scratches and some finish chips throughout the instrument. Some of the finish on the body has worn away from normal play wear. The tuning buttons have been replaced, otherwise all electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Guitar shaped Bakelite body in brown finish. One-piece tailpiece/bridge with horseshoe pickup, dual plastic control knobs and a metal back cover plate in brown crinkle finish.
Neck: Square Bakelite neck and fingerboard with raised white frets, white dot inlays and a 2 3/16” nut. Headstock features “ACE” logo and three-on-a-strip nickel tuners with replaced ivoroid buttons. 22.5” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Horseshoe magnes single-coil pickup with master volume and tone controls.
Pickup: 1.55K Ohms.
Weight: 6lbs, 1.5oz.
Playability/Sound: This is an excellent sounding lap steel. The pickup offers a wide range of sound being very bright with the tone control dimed and warming up nicely with the tone rolled back. The neck width is very comfortable and suitable for any style of playing.
Case: Includes vintage hardshell case. The handle is missing, some of the covering is peeling away in areas and there is some separation of the top and sides (see photos). otherwise the case is in good shape.
