Description
What makes this guitar special? This is an absolutely awesome vintage Univox bass with a distinct aesthetic and a boatload of old-school charm. Visually, the maple figuring of the body is fantastic, especially on the back, and looks that much better under a lustrous gloss finish. The pickups are big in both positions and output a healthy low end with a slightly rolled off top end that fully embodies the classic vintage thump. The finish has aged enough to give it a golden glow, complementing the deep rosewood fingerboard beautifully, especially with its aged plastic plates and guards to complete the natural-colored palette. In addition, it is incredibly clean for an instrument that dates around four decades old and still sounds and plays like a champ.
Condition: This bass is in very good condition, especially for its age. It does have various nicks, dings, dents, chips, finish cracks, and other forms of wear, but is still in fantastic shape for a vintage instrument. The frets only show light wear and still have a ton of life left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod functions as it should.
