Description
A vintage 1961 Excelsior C-25 tube combo amp in player-grade condition. One of the lesser-known amp brands of the 60s, Excelsior used a few different amp manufacturers to build their amps. This example was manufatured in 1961 by Valco--famous for their iconic designs for Supro, Gretsch and National. While a bit rough cosmetically, this amp is all original where it counts.
Tone-wise, the amp offers a very tweed-y tone with plenty of lows and mids, and the Jensen Alnico provides a focused top end. Independent treble and bass controls allow you to tweak your tonal balance with ease. Since the amp is now equipped with a modern, grounded power cord, the 'Hum' control has been disabled for safety. This rare amplifier has been cleaned and serviced. It is fully functional and sounds great. Includes original footswitch.
