Description
Popularized by Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones in the late '60s, this ultra cool Astro IV features built-in effects, such as G Tuner, Treble/Bass Booster & Distortion. 100% original & just recently acquired from the family of the original owner. The sunburst finish is still quite vibrant & the body produces a really warm, almost upright bass tone with a rich acoustic resonance. Tons of fun to play & hard to put down. Professionally set up by Cream City Music, so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape overall with some mild play wear - various surface scratches along with some tiny nicks & dings; light weather checking & a bit of rust on the tuners. Overall the bass has a super cool look to it with an authentic vintage vibe!
Neck: Super skinny maple neck with cream binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Frets show a bit of wear, but have plenty of life in them. Oversize headstock with raised gold Vox logo. Open-gear "clover" tuners & dual string trees . 1 3/8" nut width with zero fret; 30" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Violin-shaped, hollow body with dual F-holes. The back pad is in pretty good shape with just a bit of wear & tear. Trapeze tailpiece with raised Vox logo. Four-saddle adjustable bridge on a floating ebony base & chrome Vox bridge cover. Tortoise pickguard with black tugbar. Bass weighs 7 lbs 1.3 oz.
