What makes this guitar special? This guitar has got to be one of the most naturally resonant hollow body guitars we’ve have come through in a long time. It is almost as expressive as a straight up acoustic guitar and sings with incredible volume acoustically. The New Yorker pickup was only equipped on this model for a few years, so it is becoming increasingly rare to find. Its tonal quality is marvelously similar to the guitar’s genuine acoustic properties and adds an extra bit of low end response to boot, giving it an enhanced character overall. Although its appointments are simple, the binding’s patina and unique knobs add to its undeniable charm and vintage vibe while the sunburst finish provides it a timeless look. It may be over 50 years old, but based on the condition alone, you’d never be able to tell. This guitar was very well taken care of and it shows, so don’t let this sleeper pass you by, for it is truly an exceptional guitar.
Condition: This Epiphone Century is in very good to excellent condition overall. For a guitar over 50 years old, it is in incredible shape. It does have various nicks, dings, dents, and scratches throughout the body and neck from years of use, but the biggest mark is smaller than a dime and a quarter as noticeable. The frets do show some wear, but still play beautifully and have quite a bit of life left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Thin hollow maple body with single-ply binding. Transparent red tortoise pickguard with metal “E”. Rosewood bridge and trapeze tailpiece. White plastic octagonal knobs with pointers and dot locators.
Neck: Soft V mahogany neck with maple center strip. Rosewood fingerboard with white doy inlays. 1 11/16” nut width. 3 per side in-line vintage-style tuning machines with white buttons. Plate logo on the headstock.
Electronics: Single ’59 New Yorker pickup in the neck. 1 x volume, 1 x tone control.

Playability/Sound: The soft V neck on this guitar is surprisingly easy to play and makes first position chords incredibly comfortable. The pickup is very transparent and clean and brings the guitar’s acoustic properties to life accurately.
